Company History

March 1999

Statman Consulting was founded by Sara Statman to offer clients in the Financial Services industry introductory financial training courses to enable non-financial service providers to supply services to the financial services industry.

October 1999

Statman Consulting expanded to offer clients a full service financial software training and documentation solution. Clients were to be provided with a unique service offering, each handled by a separate but closely linked business unit.

May 2002

Statman Consulting expanded its range of financial training courses to cover more advanced financial products training, as well as very specialised courses such as volatility modeling and financial engineering courses.

June 2003

Statman Consulting rebranded and created two distinct divisions: SC Training and SC Software Services.

July 2003

SC Training began offering preparatory courses for GARP's FRM.

May 2004

SC Risk is launched to provide clients with Risk Management Consulting. This is a natural extention from risk management training already offered to our clients. In addition we offer Due Diligence and Risk Reporting to Hedge Funds and Private Equity.

May 2004

SC Risk launches Xtreme Risk Games.

May 2005

Head Office moves to London, UK and second office opened in Stamford, CT to service North American clients.

Feb 2006

SC Training introduces vLearning to create a virtual classroom environment, with recorded lectures and all course material and quizzes accessible on-line.

May 2006

New York office opens.

SC Training

Exam-Based

Building on its success in the financial training industry, SC Training began offering exam-based financial training courses in 2003, preparing candidates for GARP's FRM^TM exam. Live instruction courses are offered in five continents.

Using ex-market professionals, an extensive range of customized Financial Training courses are offered at introductory through to advanced level. Courses cover all aspects of Investment and Corporate Banking, as well as Institutional Investors. Clients typically request training on Risk Management, Financial Products, Quantitative Methods, Compliance, Audit, Operations, Fund Management and Alternative Investments.

These courses are aimed at professionals, with clients in the financial services industry, to provide them with a detailed understanding of their clients. business. These courses are not designed to teach candidates how to become Investment Bankers or Fund Managers. Instead they are a rapid, yet effective way of demystifying the jargon associated with the Financial Markets. A key feature of each course is the use of simple, non-mathematical examples to explain complex terms.

SC Software Services

SC Software Services has become the leading provider of financial software training and documentation, for financial institutions and financial software companies. Using ex-market practitioners, the key benefit for clients is our in-depth understanding of the business. A comprehensive service is offered, ranging from the provision of user guides, online help and training manuals, written in a business context, through to software training for staff and clients.

Our aim is to build long-lasting relationships, based on excellent service and mutual trust. We offer various Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and take a modular approach, enabling clients to purchase as many or as few services as required, with upgrade options available. Where appropriate, clients can outsource their entire training function.

SC Software Services also produces financial copy for marketing material and company brochures. We have an in-house marketing, design and content team. Our value-added is writing the content from a business perspective.
